Dover to Falmouth. September 2014

Dear Friends,

Only at noon, we managed to leave Dover and with the winds in our back, we had an uneventful passage to Falmouth. We were both tired from our three day London expedition, so having a quiet sail was nice. Again the force of the tidal stream surprised me … At times we are speeding along with 7 knots, and then a couple of hours later only 3 knots.

Anyway, in Falmouth wanted to check out the other marina, but also they were kind of full plus they couldn’t take our size boat. So, we stayed again at the lovely Pendennis Marina.

Tried another Fish and Chips outfit, but same verdict: dripping oily, soggy stuff… What happened with the good old days… Crispy Fish and Chips… Ah well the times change.

Did some additional shopping, and prepped ourselves for the Gulf of Biscay crossing. By what I could check weather forecast wise things should be fine…. But… it turned out to be something else…

Be good
